When I was a little girl my grandpa used to tell me, “The most important thing in this world is making sure everyone hears the name of Jesus.” And he was right. As we draw near the end of 2020, I reflect and realize that most of us have had a hard year. This year has been a struggle for everyone in various ways. One small impact on me is it has kept me from getting on a plane to see my Ghana babes. Tears fill my eyes as I think about how I haven’t kissed their sweet cheeks and hugged their necks in over a year, but it also ignites a fire inside me. There are still so many that have yet to hear the Gospel and we cannot stop now. FTO exists to provide medicine, food, clean water, and education to countless children across West Africa, but most importantly we exist to spread the Good News. We drill water wells in remote idol-worshipping villages to ensure families will have clean water. This enables us to share the Gospel and build churches so the light can break through the darkness. We send precious babies to school so they can grow up to be anything they dream of, but also to raise them as difference makers. We provide seven homes with basic necessities where the sweet little ones are taken care of and we shower them with Jesus’ love as our directors are training them to be disciples. We employ single mommas so they don’t have to walk the hard road alone and pray with them when they feel they cannot go anymore. Those same mommas now lead each other in their own devotions and we sit in awe of what Jesus has done and will continue to do. We walk into hospitals with supplies and lay hands on NICU babies fighting for their lives, hug their mommas and explain to them that Jesus is with them in this hard time and remind them He will never leave them. I give all these examples not to brag on us, but to brag on Jesus. None of this would be possible without Him and I want each of you to realize what you are helping us do! He is using basic necessities as our open door and then hearts are hearing the Gospel. As the year comes to a close I want to ask you to join us on this journey. When you partner with us, you are making a difference for generations. You are feeding a hungry child, helping a mom stay strong, discipling the youth and loving like Jesus. We cannot stop now. Join us in spreading Jesus’ love to countless people around the world. Who knows it might just change your life, too.
