Last July, the 5 O’Leary kids and I traveled to KY to spend a few days at the grandparents’ house. It just so happened that it was also VBS week at their small church. The kids were excited, but none of us had any idea of what God had planned for that week!
The first night, my dad walked in wearing this shirt.
One of the youth workers, Olivia, starting asked him about it and he shared Sydney’s story. Hearts were instantly connected! That whole week was spent getting to know Olivia and hear about her heart for Africa, too. Over the next 9 months, we prayed about how Olivia could be involved in FTO. Doors were closed until she realized she was to GO.
So this week the kids and I are back in KY for VBS, but Olivia is in Ghana for two months. She is loving the least of these, being mommy to 40+ kids, sharing the love of Jesus Christ and serving with two of her friends, Hillary and Anna. (Anna was also at VBS last year.)
Today we praise God for connecting hearts at a small country church. We praise Him for working out the details and leading the way to His plan.
Here is Olivia’s story in her own words:
Isaiah 6:8 – Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send and who will go for us?” And I said, “Here I am! Send me!”
