A few months ago a local church contacted us. Their children’s ministry of K-5 graders had collected coins for a month. The mission: Clean water. They wanted to help FEEDING THE ORPHANS provide clean water to the children of Africa. What a tremendous blessing!!! Our WATER FOR LIFE fund was empty, but this incredible group of kids (and leaders) started it off with a BANG!!! $1,000 they collected by gathering coins. Quarters, dimes, nickels, pennies!!! Now the kids received an extra incentive…their leaders did push-ups for the quarters. So this group of children gave us an awesome idea! Let’s collect coins for clean water for Orphan Sunday.
Here it is…
The logo for our Orphan Sunday campaign. We are challenging families, youth groups, scout troops, schools, anyone to get a clean water bottle, cut a slit in the side and start dropping in your coins. Orphan Sunday is November 6, 2011 and we are asking everyone to collect as much as they can until that date. All money should be turned in by November 14. Once the water project or projects(!!!!) is complete we will be sending out a video to all participants.
Additionally, you can click here to purchase your very own shirt. This is an extra soft unisex adult shirt, but also comes in youth sizes down to 3T. All proceeds from this shirt will also go to this water project.
Our goal with this project is to create life-sustaining water for orphans. It is to help eradicate the orphan crisis by preventing illnesses and even deaths, among parents. It is to give WATER FOR LIFE. And in turn, we give them the Living Water, the true meaning of life, Jesus.
If you have any questions, click here to contact us. If you would like flyers, more information, or anything else, email us. We want this to be HUGE!! We want to make an ENORMOUS impact this year as we approach Orphan Sunday. In addition, you can visit the Orphan Sunday website to get more ideas about how to make an impact on November 6. Let’s join together and spread the love of JESUS!!
Matthew 25:35 – for I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink
Romans 10:14-15 – But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? 15 And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”
